In May 2025 my best friend Bryce and I had tickets to see Neil Young in concert. However, the minute we stepped out of the parking ramp (literally) I got a notification that the conert was postponed. This was only two and a half hours before show time!

Neil ended up cancelling the rest of the tour. My only shot at seeing Neil Young live... lost forever.

Anyway, Bryce and I spent the rest of the trip hopping around guitar shops. I had tried one of these out at Chicago Music Exchange and was a big fan but wasn't ready to drop $1,100 on one.

A few stops later at a Guitar Center in the suburbs they had a display model for sale for $850. I'm a big fan of scratch and dent gear. I know that any piece of gear you hang on to is bound to get nicked up, and if I can save 30% on something that's still fully functional -- I'm in.

Someone obviously had dropped the guitar off of the rack. The strap button on the rear of the body had been pushed in about 3/16" and the paint was chipped around the button. Psh, big deal.

I filled in the hole and used my daughter's black nail polish to cover the chip (which is always covered by the strap). There are a few other blemishes on the body and headstock, but nothing affecting playability.

Since I got it, this guitar has become my go-to. I've always preferred thick strings -- this guitar helped me realize that I really enjoy a longer scale.
