Celestial Joys Surround is a label for my creative audio output.

I'm starting this site because I've been recording music again lately after 10+ years away from playing music (because kids). SoundCloud seems like a mess; these recordings aren't part of a release; I'm not trying to sell my music, just trying to make it available. Some of the content won't even be music, but more sound-design and ambient/drone stuff.

Because I'm a software engineer by trade, it wasn't much work to put a website together.

I plan on writing my thoughts, product reviews, whatever I can think of that might be useful to other folks working with electronics to write music.

Fun Facts

• I've been playing guitar since 13 and in gigging bands since 16.
  • After the birth of my 2nd child and the departure of several bandmates from the area, I took time off to focus on family and career.
• I took piano lessons as a kid, but I didn't like my teacher so I'm mostly self taught.
• My parents bought me a Peavey drumset for my 15th birthday so that my band could practice at our house.
  • I am very okay at drums.
• I cannot sight read music
• Every piece of music I've ever released has been self-produced and -engineered.
